Sikelelwa Ndwayi becomes youngest ever chair of SAPIA Transformation Committee
Sikelelwa Ndwayi, Manager: Transformation Strategy & Stakeholder Engagement for Astron Energy, is the new chairperson of the South African Petroleum Industry Association (SAPIA)'s Transformation Sub-Committee.
Sikelelwa, 31, has been a member of the Transformation Committee since August.
Representing all the main petroleum and liquefied petroleum gas companies in South Africa, SAPIA plays a strategic role in addressing a range of common issues relating to the refining, distribution and marketing of petroleum and LPG products, as well as promoting the industry’s environmental and socio-economic progress.
Prior to joining Astron, Sikelelwa was the Group B-BBEE Manager for Media24 and Executive Manager: People, Brand and Transformation, at Thebe Investment Corporation.
She also had senior transformation roles with PepsiCo and the Lewis Group.
Her career started at AQRate Verification Services, a B-BBEE Auditing agency where she gained her knowledge and experience in the B-BBEE compliance environment. She has audited several companies varying in industry and size.
Sikelelwa obtained her Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance from UCT. She has also completed a B-BBEE Management Development Programme from UNISA’s School of Business Leadership and is currently an MBA student at Stellenbosch Business School.
