Poppy Ntshongwana to make history from behind the mic

Poppy Ntshongwana will be the first ever female stadium announcer for the Wanderers Cricket Stadium.

She will start her new gig during the 16th edition of the CSA T20 campaign, which kicks off on Fridya, 5 April 2019.

""Wow, I am so excited I can't quite believe it!," she said on social media.

"It is a big deal for me: I would like to say that it's an absolute honour and I am excited for the challenge. So I am super excited and delighted to be on board to see how it all unfolds. Thank you Lions for the opportunity!"

The last time Poppy was pictured at the cricket stadium was during the Pink ODI test match between South Africa and Pakistan, the initiative raised over R1 million for Breast Cancer Awareness.

"Poppy inspires, ignites and is informed of the game: she will be our asset that is for sure," said Lions Marketing and Communications Manager Wanele Mngomezulu. "You can't help but love. Present for this season's home games, we have contracted Poppy to be our stadium voice: a warm, friendly character whom I believe is a super signing for us."
