Nomkhita Mona appointed chair of Eastern Cape tourism body
Nomkhita Mona and Tracey Putzier have been appointed chair and deputy chair of the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency (ECPTA).
Nomkhita is the CEO of the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber. She has extensive experience in the tourism sector, having previously served as as CEO of the Eastern Cape Tourism Board from 2000 until 2004.
"“It is a privilege to be appointed to chair this board," she said.
"I am very excited that I am able to be part of the team to contribute towards the growth of the Eastern Cape. There are some really big projects that we are going to push forward and I am very excited by the other members of the board who will be working with us towards taking the entity forward."
Nomkhita has an MBA from Rhodes University and a Master's degree in Labour Relations and Human Resources from Nelson Mandela University.
Tracey Putzier served on the ECPTA Board from 2006 until 2012 and has a proven track record of tourism marketing and tourism development in the Eastern Cape.
The rest of the new Board include Africa’s first black evolutionary physiologist Dr Nomakwezi Mzilikazi, economist Siyabulela Onceya, Zola Fihlani, Andrew Baxter, Zolani Mkiva and Lindani Bevileas.
